Sam Oloyede – photographed in Ottawa
Sam Oloyede is an engineer and a powerlifter. It was a beautiful September day in Ottawa when we visited this location. I had scouted out the spot years before on another trip to the nation's capital. Ottawa is so green and lush that I had to incorporate some of that into this shoot. Sam is an incredibly nice guy, but a young man staring at his cellphone came around the corner when Sam was in full bicep flex pose with his game-face on. He walked right in between us and was inches away from Sam when he looked up and jumped back – we both had a good laugh. I love photographing athletes of all shapes and sizes, and this was a shoot I won't soon forget.
