Ally Watson is an incredible skier. Raised in Scotland and living in Chamonix France, he was a great ski buddy and collaborator during my time there. In 2012 Ally Watson had a serious extreme skiing accident on Mont Blanc. When he was released from the hospital I saw him in town and didn't even recognize his swollen face when he said hi. The portraits above were made one week after when the swelling was remarkably down. Ski photography was not new to me at this time, but portraiture was, and these may be my first timeless portraits.
