I knew just the approach I would take when Heather Hendrie approached me for a business headshot shoot in Canmore. She wanted photos for her LinkedIn profile, but her new nature therapy business was in the works, as was her book, and I wanted to create something timeless, classic, and soulful – the type of photograph that could adorn the back of her book, feature her on her websites, and grace her marketing material – all of those things happened. Knowing that she is a brilliant writer, a therapist, a generous soul, and a lover of nature, the shoot was about not just creating a standard business headshot, but something that reflected her artistry, kindness and sparkle. We shot in studio and went for soft and flattering lighting, with a non-distracting background to really put the focus on her. We made a variety of shots, but ultimately this was the moment there was a beautiful connection with the camera – a genuine smile, and also the slightest tears welling up. It was a unique and wonderful shoot and a timeless moment was collected.
